Drew Child Development Corporation –
Established in 1987, Drew CDC is a community-based nonprofit that prepares the children of Watts-Willowbrook, Compton and South Los Angeles to succeed and thereby strengthen our community’s future. We work collaboratively with parents/guardians to ensure that the children we serve are prepared for social and academic success through our early childhood education centers and the provision of supportive services such as childcare, counseling, and family preservation, all in an effort to enhance their opportunities and break the cycle of poverty. Drew CDC has been dedicated to the education and well-being of at-risk children in the greater Los Angeles-area for more than two decades and continues to be a leader in Child Advocacy, Education and Welfare.

“It Takes a Village” Community Awards
Drew CDC began the “It Takes a Village” Awards in 2013 to highlight the need for greater support and resources for Child Advocacy, Education and Welfare and to cultivate the next generation of community leaders in this area. The awards inspire us to celebrate the efforts and achievements of leaders engaged in community-based problem-solving, and strive for greater collaboration and investment in Child Advocacy, Education and Welfare. We believe every child’s success strengthens the community, and hope that more individuals and organizations will join us as we help to prepare some of LA’s most vulnerable children for success.
