"BlackNLA.com is Looking For Business and Community Participation
for its 2008 Toy Drive Benefiting At-Risk-Children"


Los Angeles, CA October 1, 2008 -- BlackNLA.com is gearing up for its 5th Annual Toy Drive benefiting Drew Child Development Corporation, Girls and Boys Town of Southern California and Urban Compass, running October 23rd thru December 12th. These organizations have been selected to receive the donations because of their noteworthy track records of service and support to local, underprivileged and at-risk youth.

To maximize the reach of potential donations, BlackNLA.com is seeking participation of businesses and individuals of companies to organize their staff, fellow co-workers, client bases and the surrounding areas to participate in the Toy Drive. Those businesses participating as drop-off locations will be listed on our toy drive page and included in e-mails to be distributed to over 25,000 Los Angeles area companies and professionals.

Drew Child Development Corporation (Drew CDC), a private, non-profit organization located in South Central Los Angeles, is dedicated to the education, early intervention and the social well being of at-risk children, youth and their families in the metropolitan Los Angeles, area.

Girls and Boys Town of Southern California, two Emergency Shelters and Assessment Centers provide a safe place for children to stay to assist in meeting their urgent needs. While a safe, permanent solution is being sought for these kids in crisis, they can find a safe haven at Girls and Boys Town's Emergency Shelter and Assessment Centers. These centers provide programs for youth ages eleven to seventeen in crisis, including runaways, homeless, court-placed or abused children.
