Make A Film Foundation (MAFF) Grants A Dream of Young Writer
Jabril Muhammad

MAFF Premieres “Put It in a Book” Penned By Youth Who Has
Sickle Cell Anemia

(Los Angeles) Make A Film Foundation has granted the dream of young writer Jabril Muhammad. Its first participant, Muhammad, has Sickle Cell Anemia. He wrote “Put It in a Book” which is a story about two brothers: when one brother is killed by gang violence, the other must choose between a path of righteousness – or one of revenge.

MAFF further helped Jabril worked alongside stars such as KERRY WASHINGTON (“Ray,” “Last King of Scotland”), MICHAEL EALY (“Sleeper Cell”) and JESSE GARCIA (“Quinceanera”). Jabril was mentored in acting by ISAIAH WASHINGTON (“Grey’s Anatomy”), and in writing by DON D. SCOTT (“Barbershop”). “Put it in a Book” was directed by award-winning Director RODRIGO GARCIA (“Nine Lives,” “In Treatment”).

The aforementioned stellar team of professionals lent their time and talent for a great cause. This opportunity was made possible by the mission of MAFF and support by such entities as HBO, TIME LIFE, and the WEISSMAN FAMILY FOUNDATION.

The premiere of “Put it in a Book”, which also serves as a benefit screening, will be held on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Writers Guild Theater (located at 135 S. Doheny Drive in Beverly Hills) at 8:00pm; a reception will follow immediately after. Admission is $25.

MAFF is reaching out to the community as well as the entertainment industry to raise funds still needed to help offset the cost of the screening, production costs on its upcoming project, and to support future projects. Currently, MAFF is working with the MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION to help realize the wish of its next participant, 11-year old Clayton Beabout from Kansas City, who suffers from Vater’s Syndrome. Clayton’s wish is to star in a short film of his own making. MAKE A WISH has underwritten part of the budget, and along with MAFF, is committed to making Clayton’s dream come true.

Please visit MAFF’s website: www.makeafilmfoundation.org. Don’t miss this special and significant premiere! Your contribution can make a real difference in the lives of Jabril, Clayton and many others.
