Halle Berry Hosts Silver Rose Weekend to Benefit American Families
Jay Leno and Samuel L. Jackson Join Lineup to Rally Support

Academy Award winning actress Halle Berry will host The Silver Rose Weekend, April 27 - 28th in Los Angeles, CA, to support American families who are overcoming the nightmare of domestic violence. Celebrity friends Jay Leno and Samuel L. Jackson will join the weekend lineup to rally financial support for the women and children of the Jenesse Center, a non profit organization that provides a wholistic, comprehensive program to nurture victimized families back to a place of mental, financial, physical and emotional well being.

The annual Silver Rose Gala and Auction will kick off the weekend at the Beverly Hills Hotel & Bungalows, Sunday, April 27th at 12 noon. Jay Leno, Emmy Award winning host of NBC's top rated "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", comes onboard this year as the event auctioneer. Karen Earl, Executive Director Jenesse Center said, "Mr. Leno is one of the most compassionate, giving and kind people we have had to join our fight to raise funds for these families, we are so honored and excited to have him." The live auction will feature an opportunity to bid on site, via phone and online, so supporters unable to physically attend may still participate.

The Silver Rose Gala and Auction will honor individuals and organizations in Jenesse's circle of excellence that have demonstrated the "Power of One" to affect change in their communities. Honorees include multi-specialty law firm, Greenberg Glusker, honored for helping Jenesse with its goal of providing safe and affordable housing; community activist, Ruth Dewson, honored for her role in engaging the community on issues of domestic violence; Civil Rights icon, Xernona Clayton, honored for her lifetime work of championing human and women's rights, and The Western Region of LINKS, honored for their continued support of Jenesse and their dedication to the empowerment of women.

The exciting fundraiser weekend will continue with the inaugural Halle Berry Celebrity Golf Classicat the MountainGate Country Club on Monday, April 28th at 8:30am. Avid golfer Samuel L. Jackson will join Ms. Berry on the greens with several Hollywood A-listers and registered guests for a day of friendly competition, fun and several opportunities for vigorously generous charitable giving. The golf classic will acknowledge many trailblazers in the world of golf, including Renee Powell, who made history as the second African American woman to play in the Ladies Professional Golf Association

Berry is resolute on the importance of her personal commitment to the Jenesse Center. She said, "The Silver Rose Weekend will raise much needed funds to help families victimized by domestic violence. I donate my time and resources to Jenesse Center, because I strongly believe in this agency and have seen first hand the difference they make in the lives of women and children in their community."

Committed to acknowledging the community pillars who hold up the Jenesse organization, so that it may serve with excellence and consistency, Earl said,"The Silver Rose Weekend is a way to honor those individuals and institutions whose contributions enable Jenesse to provide comprehensive services that change lives. We are proud to salute those who have helped Jenesse Center provide needed services to its clients; these are the special people who unite to ensure our families and communities, heal, grow and thrive."
