BlackNLA.com Offers Bridge Between African Americans On-line
and Local Businesses

Los Angeles, CA (December 1, 2001) - BlackNLA.com, the leading online resource for information about African-Americans in the Los Angeles area, today launched its new web site. New features include a searchable database of Black Businesses in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties, a physician database searchable by practice specialty, hospital affiliation and accepted health plans, a career development area and a health center.

BlackNLA.com provides an easy-to-navigate web site that is free to users as well as businesses and organizations looking to post their information. BlackNLA offers a bridge between community members and local black businesses and organizations. The Internet has a great power to bring people together, but many are being left behind on the Information Super Highway. Between April 2000 and April 2001 African-American households online rose by 35% while many small and minority-owned businesses still have no or limited Internet access in their place of business. By providing an online forum where African Americans can connect with local business and organizations, we hope to increase the cohesiveness of the community and thereby increase the opportunities for both black businesses and consumers.

Although the principle goal of BlackNLA is to support the African-American community, it is also a great way for anyone with an interest to learn about what is happening in the African-American community. It provides the arena to those outside of the community that are interested in connecting and doing business within the African-American community, the opportunity to make connections and establish relationships.
