Dale Godboldo

There are certain actors who have an uncanny ability to allow comedy to roll off of their tongue in a way so natural, it seems effortless, and sometimes, the audience isn't even sure if he meant to be funny. That off-handed commitment to the character adds a depth that not only makes the audience howl in laughter, but often times creates characters both dimensional and hilarious. Dale Godboldo is one of those actors.

Born in Detroit, Dale moved to Dallas at a young age. "Although I grew up in
Dallas, I've always felt a certain connection to Detroit as well, because
most of my family is still there. I still visit both cities as often as I can, says Dale." Since the age of 5, Dale has always known he wanted to act. His first audition in kindergarten, was a play that included grades up to the 8th. "I missed my bus because I was auditioning, infuriating my mom, but I got the part," says Dale, "From that point on, I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life." After competing throughout Dallas in speech and debate competitions in high school, then working professionally on stage, Dale went on to land a major role on the Disney Channel's Mickey Mouse Club. That moved him and his mother to Orlando six months out of the year, which put a strain on his high school relationships, as well as his parents. Fortunately, Dale's family has remained close, and has continually supported his vision.

After several years of back and forth, Dale begun setting up for a move to Los Angeles, to pursue what he hoped would be the rest of his life. He first set up an artist management company with Linda Hammond and signed his first artist to LaFace/Arista Records. Then he packed up his car and drove to Hollywood, staying with a friend for a month, while getting on his feet. Success came fairly quickly after signing with manager Joannie Burstein, but nothing like the success of high school. "It took me a minute to be able to slow down and smell the roses," says Dale, "But I eventually realized that you're not going to work all the time. I need to focus on myself and my soul." Since then,
Dale has worked steadily, building an impressive resume. Most recently, he may be seen featured in the Ben Affleck and Morgan Freeman 2002 summer blockbuster film, "Sum of all Fears." In the past eight years alone, Dale has consistently worked in film, stage and as a series regular on several network television series, including two for NBC. He has guest starred on numerous shows including, 'ER,' 'Moesha,' 'Good Behavior,' 'Mad About You,' The Drew Carey Show, and Judging Amy. Dale is currently co-starring as "Keith" on the hit FOX television comedy "Wanda At Large," featuring Wanda Sykes. A few years ago, Dale attended the Acapulco Black Film Festival, and realized something that would change his life forever. "What I learned from Bill Duke, is that in order to really keep control of your life and career, you must also dedicate time to producing and controlling your own content," says Dale.

He then set up Original Man Entertainment, beginning as a loan-out corporation for his acting, and blossoming into a full blown entertainment production company, taking a bold approach to developing and breaking musical acts, television programs and feature films. His vision is to use OME as a staging ground from which to launch creative ideas, talents, and minds, by infusing concepts into action. With the tools and talent required to see projects from the spark of an innovative idea all the way to fruition, Original Man Entertainment is continually developing its own content with executive producer and board advisor JC Chasez, as well striving to set the highest standard in multi-media services. As a record label, OME has also begun development of its nationally distributed releases through Warner/Elektra/Atlantic Records. www.originalmanentertainment.com
