Third Annual
Christmas Toy Drive

The 2006 Toy Drive will benefit the following non-profit organizations:

Drew Child Development Corporation (Drew CDC), a private, non-profit organization located in South Central Los Angeles, is dedicated to the education, early intervention and the social well being of at-risk children, youth and their families in the metropolitan Los Angeles, area. Girls and Boys Town of Southern California's two Emergency Shelters and Assessment Centers provide a safe place for children to stay that meets their urgent needs. While a safe and more-permanent solution is being sought for these kids in crisis, they can find safe haven at Girls and Boys Town's Emergency Shelter and Assessment Centers. They provide programs for 11- to17-year-old girls and boys in crisis - runaways, homeless, court-placed or abused children. Urban Compass provides a safe, welcoming, and innovative environment that challenges our youth to envision and navigate a course for a rewarding future characterized by achievement, independent thought, and social responsibility through education, mentoring, and play. 2006 DROP OFF LOCATIONS AND EVENTS:

To maximize the reach of potential donations, BlackNLA.com is working with southern California businesses as toy drop locations. “Our goal is to provide toys for over 1,000 disadvantaged and at risk children, during this holiday season”, says Ms. Calhoun. Businesses that are participating as drop off locations will listed in an e-blast that is sent out to the community and on the website of BlackNLA.com.

The Toy Drive will launch November 1st. Companies currently signed up as drop off locations will start collecting items starting Nov. 20th.

We are looking for business participation, if you would like to become a drop off location or if your company would like to conduct an in-house toy drive with your employees please e-mail us at toydrive@blacknla.com or call 323-954-8988.
